TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Flames: From Coach Leonard:  The Good news - the Flames are on a 1 match winning streak. The Bad news - the winning streak was proceeded by 3 straight
losses. The girls were so close to winning another match (or 2). First match was not a good showing - 2 quick losses and done. Second match the
girls made it to a 3rd set, and lost a close game. Third match, lost the first set, and had a lead in the second set 22-20. They ended up losing
26-24. The day went by with the girls slowly improving in coverage, effort, and serving. It was disappointing to see that a few lost points made the
difference between being 3-1 and making the bracket, and being 1-3. They need to keep their chins up, and just try to improve their concentration (see themselves doing the right things), and the wins will follow. I enjoyed coaching them for the day- they are a good bunch. I wanted to be the first coach to write a longer tournament summary than Coach Ron, but alas, I did not have the creative vibe going today ;) Thanks Ron for your help on Saturday.

Storm: From Coach Green:  Storm finished 1-3. We played well, just have to make a few small adjustments to win more matches. When we pass, set, hit we win points.

Cyclones: From Coach Roland:  Team Cyclones played excellent volleyball all day. We finished first in our pool at 5 - 1. The effort and hustle was more than I could have asked for. I was very pleased at not only the determination to win with hustle and effort but also their officiating duties. It's the best of any team in our division. Great Job!!!

Blaze:  From Coach Ron - A real tough & frustrating day for my group.  Went 0-4 in pool play...lost all matches that we could have won.   We brought our tool box to put in a good days work...but, we still have to learn to operate the tools with efficiency that's in the box to get the job done effectively.  We're not hurting from the athletic standpoint...still waiting for our individual fundamentals to come together collectively as a team.  When we all can put the ball in play on our serves as we move thru our rotation and our serve/receive passing game is making it to target at a 70% success ratio and both are striking the same cylinder consistently in games...we'll see the match wins success we so desperately long for.  Hoping to see that happen in our last tourney (regional) coming up.  Would be a great way to end the season for this squad...they deserve it with all the hard work they have put in.  No doubt that we have seen tremendous progress with each player from top to bottom of our line-up...I know we all want to see that improvement show up in the wins column for the next tourney.   I see the potential for it all to come together to end our season in grand style.  Want my group to know that we (coach and parents) are vey proud of your effort this season....we shall persevere.  I BELIEVE IN YOU...KEEP THE CAN-DO ATTITUDE!
